Document Records Update

From our good friends at Document

Many thanks again to all those who buy direct from Document; with your help we have been able to bring back into stock many of our long “deleted” CDs.
We are also delighted to say we have a new “Search facility” on our main web-site, in which you will find a treasure trove of articles and archive material on many of the artists. Also there will be MP3 sample tracks from each new Document Records release, so that you can listen to the CD before purchase.

To all of you who gave me such great information about Cleo Brown. I will be contacting them direct by email soon.

VAUGHN DE LEATH:
The Strange Tale of a Superstar
Hidden From History

I’m part way through writing a book about this astonishing lady. I am desperately seeking, Photos, Cuttings, Articles that feature or simply mention VDL. Also much appreciated would be any sheet music/label scans, and if any one can actually find a transcript or any info on the Law Suit involving Kath Smith…yes Kate Smith!

As Bob Groom (sleeve note writer and then audience member) notes:
"It sounds fresh and vital with Miss Gibson (his guitar) talking to him throughout. With "Come on up, Sonny Terry", Gary annouces the arrival on stage of his old playing partner. Their playing meshes perfectly throughout."
