IBSC 59 Oliver Riley and the Blues Notions
Tonight its the amazing Oliver Riley and the Blues Notions from circa 1988. Oliver was one of the best blues guitarist and vocals to come out of Kansas City, that unfortunately no one knows about. Oliver played on the edge and legend has it that they actually won the international blues challenge in Memphis, but were penalized for going over the time limit! The band was led by Oliver Riley and Wayne Smith, with Greg Mays, Billy Thomas and Dave Creighton.

IBSC 55 Blue Notions, Big Bob Schnebelen, John Paul Drum. The Roxy on a Sunday Night 1991
Tonight is a cool show. I recorded this on an open reel tape machine back in 1991, and at some point transferred part of it to cassette tape. This was the Jam session at the Roxy Bar and Grill in Overland Park Kansas. The best of KC blues came out and played that jam. It was a lot of fun. This show features the Blues Notions with Tom Trashmouth Baker on Vocal, Carl Angur on Guitar, Wayne Smith on Bass, not sure who was the drummer, and the Professor on Organ. After the Blue Notions is an unidentified band, not sure who it is. They are singing BlackJack blues, but I don't think it is Big Bob Schnebelen who I remember doing that song. After that, it is Big Bob, with John Paul Drum on Harp, and yours truly on B3. Great show! Enjoy!!!

Blues Beatles - A Hard Days Night (Live) 2017
I have talked a lot about the Blues Beatles on the podcast. While I can't play them on the podcast, I can post their video here! You would think that blues and Beatles wouldn't work, but obviously it does! Of course, if you think about it how much the Beatles were influenced by R&B and early rock and roll, it makes sense that you can bluesify the Beatles:-)

UPDATE
I hope to start adding more content to the blog. I have made this promise so many times, but this time perhaps I mean it! :-) Granted the podcasts are a lot of content themselves, and many people like the history of Iowa blues, and the players, so it is in the podcast. However, I also know people like reading and seeing videos too. So I will try to be more up to date with stuff. I Hope:-)
