Taylor Hicks: White Christmas

Taylor Hicks singing White Christmas from the AOL Sessions.

ATTENTION ALL BLUES AND SOUL FANS!! If you have been skipping the Taylor Hicks videos because he won American Idol, and you haven't listened to any of his stuff. LISTEN TO THIS VIDEO. It starts out as a soul song, but then half way through the band turns it into the blues. I wouldn't be posting this guys stuff if I didn't think it belonged here!! To be honest at this point and time I wouldn't place him in the top pantheon of bluesmen, at least not yet:-) but the guy has chops on the harp, and can sing. Do yourself a favor and Check it out!

Thank you once again, Bluesman, for recognizing the talent of Mr. Hicks. I look forward to album #2 (or #4) which I think will be a true representation of his blues, soul and acoustic roots! This is a fabulous video!

Thanks for posting some more of Taylor's videos. I haven't watched that one in a while and I forgot how much fun it is. Glad I stopped by today.

You're right on about Taylor Hicks. I also really commend him for the interest he has started among all ages in past soul, R&B & Blues artists (as well as new ones) but especially for those in the past that may not have gotten the kudos they deserved. He frequently tags or weaves in many of his performanceslines from those past greats, even wearing t-shirts w/their names or shouting out their names. I observed young people looking up music of these old blues or R&B greats. On fan sites, kids as well as oldies were posting videos or audios of these along w/excited discussions. Plus hey...I REALLY love this guys voice.
