Sweet jazzy blues from Freddy Cole, brother of Nate Cole. Freddy is really really good! It is a shame he has lived in the shadow of his brother, because Freddy Cole is the man. I love Nate a lot, and I have covered a few of his tunes over the years, but Freddy deserves some love.

Miles Davis: All Blues
This is a cool clip not only because if features Miles Davis, but it also features the legendary Steve Allen. Allen was the man who created late night TV. There would be no David Letterman, or Jay Leno, if Steve Allen didn't exist. All of the great comedy and music that are staples of late night TV came from the imagination of Steve Allen.
This is also the 50th anniversary of the release of Miles Davis legendary recording of Kind Of Blues, one of the most celebrated jazz recordings of all time.

Taylor Hicks: New York State Of Mind
Taylor Hicks doing an incredible acoustic version of a classic Billy Joel song. It is kinda of a jazzy, blues song, and Hicks has some pipes. Also for those not into Hicks, he just signed a recording contract with Vangard records, and has Delbert McClinton on at least one of those tracks. I keep telling you that Taylor Hicks is the real deal. He certainly surprised me the first time I heard him away from American Idol. If anything that was perhaps the worst that could have happened to his career. I believe many people don't take him seriously and they are making a mistake. Give him a listen just once and trust me you will like it:-)
