Bowlfull Of blues Update: Plus Upcoming Gigs

Hello, just wanted to send a quick Bcc email to the members and friends of the South Skunk.  We are busy getting the final touches to the lineup for the 20th annual Bowlful of Blues that will be held Labor Day weekend, Saturday September 1 and Sunday September 2.  This will be a fitting Bowl for the Year of the Skunk!  We will be announcing the lineup in the next week or two, as soon as we have all the various artists arranged.  You will have to stay tuned just a little longer.

In the mean time though there are some good blues shows that are coming to Skunkland yet this month.  Hope to see you at one of these shows!

DownBeat Magazine JULY 2010 said:  “Somewhere between traditional & unconventional, this seasoned Iowan singer-guitarist sounds fully involved with controlling the tension in his plain-spoken “ruff and tumble” blues.  Neither showy nor too self-effacing, he applies his metal tube to strings in mostly solo performances, adding his talented guitar-playing wife, Vicki, on 3 songs....”...Frank-John Hadley

Here is another review from a show they did at Buddy Guys Legends in Chicago:
