- RIP Jim Dickinson 11/15/1941-8/15/2009: The esteemed Arkansas born, Memphis-based music producer, pianist, and singer Jim Dickinson died in his sleep in Memphis on Saturday of possible complications of a heart condition. He was 67. Dickinson produced sessions for Sun Records, did session piano work for soul and rock luminaries Aretha Franklin, Sam & Dave, Bob Dylan, and The Rolling Stones, made numerous records as a leader, and who was the father of Cody and Luther Dickinson of the North Mississippi Allstars.
