This is a great song recorded by Steve Goodman just months before he died, and unfortunately he died just before the Cubs made it to the playoff for the first time since 1945. As a Cub fan and a Steve Goodman fan I find this song very melancholy, and sad, but hopeful. Plus it is a nice little blues song. Legend has it that Steve Goodman's ashes were actually buried at home plate, but I am not sure if that is true, but it would be a great story.

Good to see your posted video of "A Dying Cub Fan's Last Request" by Steve Goodman. He often doesn't get his due. You might be interested in my 800-page biography, "Steve Goodman: Facing the Music." The book delves deeply into the genesis of "A Dying Cub Fan's Last Request" and its semi-sequel, "Go, Cubs, Go."
You ask about his ashes. They weren't buried at home plate. It was out in the vines of left field. The whole detailed story is in the book.
