ACK!!!!! I SHOULDNT HAVE POSTED ABOUT THE CUBS!!!!!!!!!!!

ACK!!!!!!!! I knew better than to post about the Cubs when they are winning. After the last Cub post they have started to falter, and worse, Alfonso Soriano strain a quad, and will be out for a month. Hopefully some more I-Cubs can help out the Chi Cubs. The current roster has a ton of I-Cubs already, so what is a few more:-) If you are a Cub fan keep your fingers crossed

Cubs In First!

I haven't posted about the Cubs recently since I didn't want to jinx them. Superstition and baseball seem to go hand in hand. I suppose it has something to do with mojo:-) However, since Sweet Lou Pinella was thrown out of a game back in June, the Cubs have gone on a tear. Of course they also have done it with a bunch of Iowa Cubs. The I-Cubs were in first at the beginning of the season, but have dropped to second place since then. That is also the reason I worry about the Cubs. All of those Iowa Cubs who are now up in the majors are for the most part career minor leaguers at some point these guys are going to stop producing. After all it is August and the Cubs might be due for an August swoon. Hopefully Kerry Wood returning this week will shore up the bullpen, and the Cubbies can hold on to first. Otherwise it might be a long August.

Iowa Cubs Still In First

The I Cubs are still in first place in the PCL North. However, just like I predicted the big team is calling up and sending down guys left and right and their lead in the PCL North has fallen to a game and a 1/2 over the Nashville Sounds.

The big Cubs lost again last night in the late innings, and tonight they just went ahead in the top of the 9th. I am dreading the bottom of the inning and Dempster blowing another save:-) Will update when the game is done.

CUBS WIN! CUBS WIN! Dempster gets the save, three up three down! Amazingly the Cubs don't blow it in the 9th!:-)

CHOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WTF???? Winning the game in the 9th inning. up by five runs, and your closer, and another relief pitcher give up 6 runs in the bottom of the ninth to lose the game. AAARRGGHH!!!! Why is Dempster still trying to be a closer. The guy is a set up man. The Cubs Haven't had a closer since Joe Borowski. If you are going to spend millions of dollars on ballplayer, then why not a few bucks on a quality closer! Its enough to give ya da blues.

btw, the Iowa Cubs continue to win. However, at some point you have to believe that the Chicago Cubs will start calling up some of the I Cubs, and Iowa can kiss their season goodbye as well.

HEARTBREAK!

Just when you thought it was safe to follow the cubs they break your heart again, and again. Last week they were rolling, and in the middle of a winning streak, and this week they lost 2 out fo 3 to the freaking Pirates! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!! At least the Iowa Cubs are winning!! 8 straight games!! First place in the PCL north. That is pretty good considering the Chi Cubs have been calling up and sending down guys left and right.
