Buddy Guy's "Skin Deep" Receives Traditional Blues Album Grammy® Nomination Earlier this year, Buddy Guy released Skin Deep, featuring the title cut about racial equality. "Underneath, we're all the same" says Buddy in the chorus, and just a few months after its release, a young Chicagoan was elected as our first black President. Following a bittersweet tour during which his older brother Phil died and at the end of the Experience Hendrix Tour, which saw the demise of Mitch Mitchell, this was welcome news.
