Comment Moderation Now In Effect

Due to the attack of the spammers, I am now moderating all comment. Don't worry if you comment doesn't appear right away. I will get to them by evening. It is unfortunate that the spammers have just found my blog, but it was bound to happen. Hopefully, they will get the point and I can open things up again.

Spam Spam Spam!!!

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, I think the spammers must think I really retired! All the funky comments are gone, I am not sure about the person wanting to be a moderator, but no need for one, and probably a scammer anyway. Not sure why they waste their time here. I assume most of you know not to click on the links of their comments. I am pretty sure most of those pages are virus and maleware looking to invade your computer. Just remember surf smart, and keep your anti virus up to date.

Blues Historian Reviews

I saw something coming up though our friendly federal government in regards to promotions on the internet. As you know there are a lot of unfriendly blogs that are purely set up to promote products. They try to convince you that they are ordinary people who have stumbled on to these great products. They are easy to spot, I call them spam blogs. The only thing that the blogger writes about is how great this wonderful product is that they are using. So the feds are wanting people to be honest that they are getting free product and not paying for it, so their endorsement is honest.
I am not sure how that effects me, but just so you know. I do get CDs, and DVDs to review from different record companies, and promotion staffs. Those of you who have read my reviews know that I am honest. I love music, and I love the variety of CDs that come my way. However, from now on I will let you know if I bought the CD, or it was sent to me for review. Hopefully this will meet whatever requirements that are coming down the line from the government.

Yahoo Group Gone

Well after 6+ years of emails, the demise of my Yahoo Group has come. I could see it happening about a year ago, since fewer and fewer emails were being sent. I also realized that few people were getting the emails, and many were bouncing. I assume that the ever efficient spam filters were probably doing the list in. When I started this blog I assumed that I would use all of these great net tools to promote blues and Iowa Blues artists, but when this blog took off the idea of keeping the email list started to look pretty silly. So it was a slow death, and I don't think anyone noticed it, but after a few warnings of its impending doom. I pulled the plug on it today. So, if you have come over here from the Yahoo group, Welcome!!!! All of the blues news that is fit to print that showed up on the list will be here. Thanks for six great years on the list, and hopefully we can have many more years of fun here on blogger!!!!

I Goofed

Well, I guess I posted too many Youtube videos, and now blogger's spam bots, think I am a spammer. I can still post, but with each post I need to jump through hoops. Hopefully this is a one time 24hr thing. I suppose what really set it off was my tagging all the videos. If you click on the video link under any of the movies you will get only posts with videos. It is pretty cool, and if you only want to watch some great blues, R&B, and Soul music then go for it. However, I think that must have set off the alarms at blogger, because after I did that then I found out I would need to jump the hoops.

Oh well, enjoy music.
