Warm Whiskey Band Doing Benifit in Kirkman Iowa

The Warm Whiskey Band who record at Junior Motel are playing a benefit in Kirkman Iowa. Those of you in the area of the Loess Hills should head over there since this is going to help some one in need. Do a good thing on October 4th and head to the little town of Kirkman and hear my friends the Warm Whiskey Band! Here is their press release.

We here in the sleepy little town of Kirkman, Iowa have discovered the talent of The Warm Whiskey Band.

I am the owner of the towns only bar, and with a little effort, have secured this awsome band for my Fall Benefit Poker Run on October 4th.

The benefit is for a local friend, who has endured heart and colon surgeries, and is on the mend, but in need of help with medical bills.

The days events include a Bikers Poker run through the Loess Hills, ending up at The Beer Barn and Grill (my place), for a barbq, "refreshments" and a beer garden show from this awsome band.

There is free primitive camping at the towns city park, for all weary travelers.

Registration for the poker run is Sat. The 4th, 11:00 to 1:00 PM. ( $20.00 entry fee - all vehicles are welcome). Poker hand drawing at 7:00 PM and great tunes start at 9:00. Everyone is welcome

The Warm Whiskey Band: Where You Come From

Found a cool video from an Iowa band on Myspace. They recorded both the song and made the video at Kirk Kaufman's legendary studio near Fort Dodge, Iowa, called Junior's Motel. Junior's Motel is one of the coolest places on earth. In fact, I hope it becomes an historic landmark one day. Not only because of all the great music made there, or the awesome musicians who recorded there, but because the building is a work of art. He took an old chicken coop on his family farm and turned it into a great studio. Furthermore, it is a never ending process. He is currently working on a giant stone tower that hopefully one day will be done:-)
