Billy Joel: Vienna

The nice thing about a blog, is that I have no boss telling what to post:-) So if I post something off topic I can't be fired! However, since I have the blues, and I kind of want to wallow in them right now, then I am posted this fine song by Billy Joel. I spent a lot of years trying unsuccessfully to play like Billy Joel. He can play jazz, blues, ragtime, and all form of Rock, and pull it off in one song. Truly an amazing composer and piano player. I also admit I have a soft spot for this movie, since it reminds me of a friend of mine who insists on living the life of Holly Golightly. God bless you Holly where ever you may be.

Billy Joel: All My Life

Billy Joel has a new song, and a new image. I would like to take credit for creating the new Billy Joel look! About the only difference is he has a pork pie hat, and I have a fedora. Hey Billy! Get a fedora they look much better! Wider rim, cooler look:-) I dig the Goatee. although it is hard to see on Billy since he is turning gray. Nice look, now perhaps some glasses!

Anyway Billy, who was a hero of mine when I was an angry young man, has a new song, and video out, or at least it is new to me!

Ray Charles and Billy Joel

This is a great clip from just over 21 years ago! My how time flies! A very nice piano blues called Baby Grand by Billy Joel, with his hero the great Ray Charles. This was an awsome song. the piano playing is seemless. It is hard to tell where Billy begins, and Ray ends. Very nice playing.
