Bob Dorr And The Blue Band Update

Pink lace, thong, underwear is on sale at Vickie's place for Valentine's Day! Now that I have your attention...
Hope to see you tonight (Fri) at the Waterloo Center For The Arts fundraising dance at the Arts Center, 225 Commercial St in Waterloo. Selections from Randall's Catering, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase. Great size dance floor and all ages welcome. What's not to like, right Avis? You might still be able to get an advance ticket ($5) at the Arts Center. They're $8 at the door. Bring the kids and grandkids. The event runs 7-11p, we play 7:15-10:45p. More info 319-291-4490 or www.waterloocenterforthearts.org...
Saturday we play a private party...
And that's it. No more gigs on the books for the rest of the month. Yes, we'd be interested in a short notice house party at your place. Call me. Make me an offer we can't refuse! Find out more: http://www.theblueband.com/contactBob.htm...
We did add a few more cool dates to the appearance calendar this week. An Easter weekend return to the 503 in Iowa Falls and an invitation to play the Smokin' In The Junction BBQ Celebration in West Des Moines on the Saturday afternoon of Memorial Day weekend (that's gonna be just like the old days, play that BBQ event in the afternoon, a wedding that night and the North Liberty BBQ Fest the next evening!) Plus an invitation to return to Live @ 5, Summer Outdoor Series in Ottumwa in July. Things aren't so rosey for the next couple of months tho', so keep telling your hometown festival entertainment committee, or company event planner, or your favorite casino, or nightclub about us. We'd love to add as many dates to the 30th Anniversary Tour as possible...
A quick shout out to saxman Heath Alan Pattschull, marking the 14th anniversary of playing with The Blue Band this month! (first gig in Cedar Rapids, Feb. 1997) There are only four people who have played more consecutive years with the group. Combine his day job, two children, and Heath's own band playing a lot around Des Moines, and he's one busy guy. We're hoping he has some open nights so he can join us for some of the summer dates. Until then, former Lil Ed & The Blues Imperials saxman and current section player with Iowa City's Diplomats of Solid Sound, Eddie McKinley is really doing a great job with Al in the horn section...
This Saturday night's Backtracks radio show is the annual Valentine's LUV edition. Rock'n'Roll love songs from all eras for the entire show, 7-10pm. Three hours of lovin'! Yer gonna love it. If you can't get the radio signal, listen anywhere on the planet via streamed audio at www.iowapublicradio.org...
And speaking of Iowa Public Radio, I have been invited to be the MC/stage announcer for the next Friends Blues Blowout, Sat. Feb. 19 at Electric Park Ballroom in Waterloo. Joe Louis Walker is the headline act. He won the Blues Music Award from the Blues Foundation for blues album of the year last year. He's nominated for Blues Guitar player of the year and Blues Entertainer of The Year this year. Simply one of the hottest blues performers on the planet. Stop by Bob's Guitars in Cedar Falls for advance tickets (ask for Avis) (or her little dog) (my wife loves that dog) or try on line at www.iowapublicradio.org I'll see ya there...
See ya on the Blue Highway, stop by Vickie's place for pink lace, Happy VD (Valentine's Day, silly), say those three words to the one you love-PASS THE CAKE!, and always know that we love you. Bob Dorr & The Blue Band
