Andy Coats Update

Hey folks,

Hope you are all doing well. There are lots of special events coming up this month, so let me get right down to it:

-- Yesterday was the kickoff of the Bimbe Festival in Durham. I had the honor of sitting in with living legend, John Dee Holeman, for his annual Blue Monday show at Blue Mt. Catering. It was a pleasure and privilege, as always. For more info and complete schedule, please visit this link:

-- this Friday, May 16: I’ll be returning to the lovely General Store CafĂ©, which has recently been expanded and renovated. They now have a complete bar section in the back of the building, complete with stage, sound, etc. We’ll be doing a band show with the Bank Walkers and starting at 9:30 pm. The cover charge will be $5.00. For address, etc., please visit my website:

-- next Thursday, May 22, 6-8 pm, FREE : The Bank Walkers in the “Tobacco Road” Concert series, CCB Plaza (corner of Parrish & Corcoran St.), Downtown Durham, NC.

This show is being organized and sponsored by the fine folks at the St. Joseph’s Historic Foundation and the Durham Parks and Recreation Department, who also organize the Bull Durham Blues Festival each year. Please see the attached poster for this event.

Stay tuned also for a few more shows, including a special Memorial Day weekend event at the Blue Martini. I’m still working on details, but suffice it to say that I’ll be bringing some special guests for my usual standing gig and they have something to do with Music Maker (www.musicmaker.org).

Thanks for your support, and all my best to you!
