Donna Summers RIP

Donna Summers has died.  While she was known as a disco diva her songs much like the Tramps and a few other disco artists, had a strong basis in Soul and Funk.  For more information Click HERE.

The Tramps: Disco Inferno

I know it has been months since I posted a video, but I was feeling kinda of nostolgic for some sweet soul music, and The Tramps fit the bill.

Tramps: Disco Inferno

The original post of this song was from a reunion gig of the Tramps. This is the original video of Disco Inferno.

Okay, guilty pleasure night:-) I am sure that the strings, the bridge in the middle of the song, and the prominent snare drum make this disco, but if you had to pick one cool disco song this is it:-)

Commodores: Brick House

This is one of the many videos I had previously embeded in the site before Youtube deleted it. The Commodores Brick House was one of the few great disco tunes from the 70s. However, it is probably more Funk than disco. Either way it is a great song.

The Tramps: Disco Inferno

This is soul music. Yeah, I know a lot of you will refuse to watch, because of some sort of disco phobia, and rightly so, because disco like the Bee Gees, was nauseating, but this really is soul music. I say listen to it, give it a try, and I bet you will like it:-)
