Casey James: Drowing On Dry Land

Nice slow blues by Casey James.  Slow blues is one of the easiest styles of blues to play, and one of the hardest to master. This kid has chops!  I especially like his phrasing.  You can hear the guitar breath.  It is not a mesh of a hundred notes a minute.  Nice Job!

BB King: Sweet 16

A very good clip of BB playing one of his signature tunes. I am thinking that this is from the 70s. At the very end Mohammad Ali is jumping up and clapping and he looks pretty young. Of course BB is ageless:-)

Taylor Hicks: Grits Aint Groceries/medley

This starts out with a very, very slow version of Little Milton's Grits Ain't Groceries, and then it turns into a nice slow blues jam. Hicks can sing the blues no doubt about it.

Stevie Ray Vaughn And Johny Copeland: Tin Pan Alley

Another great example of why Stevie was so great. Here he plays with the great Johnny Copeland. Watch how Stevie shares the stage. This is no competition. Stevie shows the respect he has for Johnny by not getting into a competition to see who was the best. Unlike some white artists who seemed more interested in smoking their heroes on stage. ( I won't say who, but if you have seen a few of these videos you will figure it out pretty quickly.

Susan Tedeschi: Slow Blues

A nice melodic slow blues by Susan Tedeschi from Austin City Limits.

Otis Rush And Eric Clapton: Double Trouble

What I love about Clapton is his respect for the music and the people who originated it. There are tons of videos with Eric playing along with the guys who paid the dues well before Clapton picked up a guitar. I also think Clapton just gets better as he ages. I guess that is the beauty of the blues, it is like a fine wine it only gets better with age!

Gary Primich: Baby I'm Cutting In On You

Slow blues on the street. An interesting video that looks like it was shot at the same time as the previous video.

Ah, Yes!!! Brother Ray, playing some very sweet slow blues! I miss Ray a lot, he was one of the great performers of any style of music he played.

Eric Clapton: Kindhearted Woman

An old Robert Johnson song revamped and modernized for public consumption. Still has heart though and thats what counts.
