- Shreveport Blog honors Chico Chism. The late Chico Chism is best known for his work in Chicago as Howlin' Wolf's last drummer and for his relocation in 1986 to Phoenix, Arizona where he became a prominent bluesman about town until his passing in 2007. But he was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana where he was very active musically. Shreveport music historian Chris Brown has kicked off a new blog with a tribute to Chico's first record "Hot Tamales And Barbecue" from 1959.
