I got this last week in the old email file from Scott Gowens. Looks like a big blues show coming up this Saturday in Granville Ohio. Here is the 411 from Scott:
The 10th Annual Hotlicks Bluesfest will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010, in downtown Granville, OH.
Line-up:
The Hotlicks Bluesfest Social Club (featuring local blues guitarists to be announced)
Cathy Lemons and Johnny Ace
Reverend Raven & The Chain Smokin' Altar Boys
Scott Ainslie
Wallace Coleman
Willie “Big Eyes” Smith
If ten hours of the Blues isn't enough - and let's face it: it's never enough - stop by Brews after the concert to hear the Sean Carney Band jam well into the night and early morning.
For our 10th party downtown, we pay tribute to our departed friend Willie Pooch. As Mike Harden wrote: "He loved the life he lived, and he lived the life he loved."
The Bluesfest is a free event organized by the Granville Federation for the Appreciation of the Blues. Donations from sponsors, which range from local corporations to blues-loving individuals, help offset some of the costs of putting on the event, which annually brings blues musicians from near and far to play. East Broadway between Main and Prospect streets is closed to traffic, with a stage set up at the west end and a beer tent at the east end. In between, there’s plenty of room to set up lawn chairs, and even to dance. It’s a family-friendly event that draws thousands.
