Last week (okay two weeks ago:-) artist of the week was Mike Bloomfield, so logically you have to follow up Mike with his friend and band mate Paul Butterfield. Paul also left us way too soon. Drugs seemed to take away a lot of great musicians from the 60s and 70s. Butterfield was also one of a group of white blues players who searched out the great Chicago blues artists and learned to play the blues from them. These guys would go to clubs on the Chicago southside, and then brought the blues out to the college kids of the day.
