Its been awhile since I have posted some Taylor Hicks! Hey Soul Patrol hows it's going! I am always grateful when Taylor plays the blues. Things are tough right now and even on the local level it is hard to convince bar owners to hire blues bands. With people like Taylor out there playing the blues gives me hope. If Taylor is in your area you need to see him. The man is a true hero of soul and blues. Thanks for keeping the blues alive!!!!

unfortunately it is hard times for the blues. Had multiple bar owners tell me that kids don't like the blues. Also the crowds we have are old. This is happening everywhere even in Chicago. Bruce Igalar from Alligator records is trying some things with younger artists in an attempt to get kids into blues again. My theory is perhaps promote the older and forgotten blues cats. After all Bruce built Alligator records by recording Hound Dog Taylor when he was supposed to be past his prime. I think that if you go old and convince the kids of the authenticity of the music, then you will win them over. After all, when you listen to what they have for music, it really isn't much of a competition. Blues is real, their music if fake, auto tuned, digitized loops, with no real musicians. No much of a contest if you ask me:-)
