• New Times "Best of Phoenix" honors Rhythm Room and Bob Corritore's radio program! Phoenix weekly publication, The New Times, has just published its annual Best of Phoenix awards, listing Rhythm Room as "Best Blues Club" (click here to see) and KJZZ as "Best Blues / Radio Station" (click here to see). • Off to the Biscuit! There is nothing quite like the King Biscuit Blues Festival in Helena, Arkansas. This town is the former home-base of Sonny Boy Williamson II and the region's rich blues heritage is proudly on display. The vibe of this festival is that of Southern hospitality and there is an unspoken appreciation of real deal blues. This year's festival takes place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 4, 5 and 6, and boasts a huge lineup including Taj Mahal, Bonnie Raitt, Bobby Rush, Billy Branch and Sons Of The Blues, Sterling Billingsley Band, Kenny Smith Band, (with Bob Margolin, Ann Rabson, Bob Corritore, Little Frank, Bob Stroger, Clay Swafford and Jimmy Mayes),  Ernest "Guitar" Roy, Mississippi Spoonman, Jumpin' Johnny Sansone, Kenny Neal, Wayne Toups, Cyril Neville, Andy T and Nick Nixon, Anson Funderburgh and The Rockets (with Kim Wilson), David Berntson, Eddy Clearwater, Cleome Bova, Bernie Pearl, Don McMinn, Vasti Jackson, Carl Weathersby, Reverend John Wilkins, Reba Russell Band, the Cate Brothers, Fruteland Jackson, the Dixie Wonders, The Peterson Brothers Band, Big George Brock, Donna Herula, Eb Davis, James Cotton, Zakiya Hooker, Samantha Fish, Phillip Stackhouse, Austin Young, The Bell Singers, The Delta Blues Museum Band, Chris O'Leary Band, and many more! • Tail Dragger / Bob Corritore Phoenix CD Release Party Oct 12 and 13! Tail Dragger & Bob Corritore / Longtime Friends In The Blues was released in late March and there will be a celebration of this CD in Phoenix on Friday and Saturday Oct 12 and 13. Tail Dragger and Bob will be joined by Chris James, Patrick Rynn, Brian Fahey and very special guest Henry Gray, all who appear on the CD! • Bob Corritore Receives Certificate of Appreciation from City of Phoenix! Phoenix Councilman Tom Simplot came to Bob Corritore's birthday party last Saturday at the Rhythm Room not only to enjoy the festivities and the amazing blues of Rod Piazza & The Mighty Flyers, but to present Bob with a gift. Councilman Simplot presented Bob with an official Certificate of Appreciation from the City of Phoenix! Thanks to the City of Phoenix for this great honor. Thanks also to the packed house that came out on Saturday to the Rhythm Room, and for the graciousness of Rod Piazza to allow Bob and Dave Riley to join him on the stage. A great time was had by all.
