This coming weekend you can enjoy some great blues music both Friday and Saturday. Dave Zollo will be appearing at the Speakeasy this Friday 9/21 beginning at 8PM (he is an extraordinary Iowa musician). Bob Pace and Scott Cochran, Billylee Janey, Gary Gibson and Jim DeKoster will be inducted! Both Bob Pace and Scott Cochran played the Bowl this year and so did Billylee Janey’s son Bryce. Also note that Gary Gibson is scheduled to play at the Speakeasy on 10/26 and Bob Pace on December 1) ! A block of rooms are available at the Country Inn and Suites in Grinnell if you call 641-236-9600 and ask for the South Skunk rate. These rooms are available at the South Skunk discounted rate ($77.00) only if you make reservations by 11/21. This is a show you will want to attend. Ron Cooper tells me many believe that this day may very well be the end of the world (at least as we know it now). The Mayan calendar ends on this date! Is this the dawning of the Age of Aquarius or is it the end. Well one thing for sure, Matt Woods and the Thunderbolts and Lil Ed and the Blues Imperials will help us make it through the night.
