South Skunk Blues Society Update

Membership Drive has begun:
We have emailed everyone who is due for renewal of their membership and will be sending letters in the US mail to those that don’t have email.  We are also in the process of renewing sponsorships and getting new ones too.  Since we are going to have a two day show this year we need all the help we can get so if it is time to renew your membership or sponsorship and have not done so yet, please consider doing that.  One of the benefits of membership (or sponsorship) in South Skunk is that you receive the Central Iowa Blues Society Newsletter, however if your membership lapses your subscription to this monthly newsletter will end.  I am attaching a membership form and also a sponsorship form to this email.  Please feel free to share with others and help us to recruit some new members and sponsors.

We are so grateful for the renewal sponsorships we have received from Fulton Manufacturing, The Vernon Company, and Revolution Cycle.  We also thank our newest sponsors the Jasper County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and the Town and Country Sanitary Services.  We also recognize and thank Dan Wickliff for renewing his membership at the Contributing Member level.  Dan is a great supporter of the South Skunk Blues Society.

Bowl Program Ads:
We are in the process of putting together the program for the 20th annual Bowlful of Blues and we are actively selling ads.  If you or your business would like to purchase an ad in the Bowl program just let me know.  The business card size ads are $30.00, the 1/4 page is $50.00, half page is $80.00 and a full page is $140.00.

Bowl preparation:
We have received our order of shirts and hats and they will soon be available for purchase on line.  Tickets are at the printers and are available on line now at southskunkblues.org  .  Advance tickets to the Bowl will save you $10.00 on admission if you go both days.  In the next week or two the tickets will be available to purchase from the local out lets in Newton, Des Moines and Grinnell.

We are needing to add to our core of volunteers who will help us prepare for and also work at the Bowl.  Again this year volunteers from the Central Iowa Blues Society will manage the entry gate.  Please consider lending a hand in this effort, just let me know what area you would like to help with and we will see if we can get you lined up with a job.  Volunteers make this work and we have kept this going for the past 20 years!  Now is the time rally so please let us know how you might want to help.
