RIP Andrew Love - November 21, 1941 to April 12, 2012. Saxophonist Andrew Love is best known for being a part of The Memphis Horns, the famous house horn section for Stax Records. Andrew died of complications from Alzheimers on April 12 at age 70. As a member of The Memphis Horns he played on all Stax recordings with horns including songs by Albert King, Little Milton, The Staples Singers, Johnnie Taylor, Otis Redding, Rufus Thomas and others. In later years this celebrated horn section would pair down to just 2 peices consisting of Wayne Jackson on trumpet and Andrew on sax, and would work extensively with The Robert Cray Band as well as making numerous high profile soul and pop music guest appearances.
