• Blues Blast Music Award winners! Special thanks to Bob Kieser and the crew at Blues Blast Magazine for last Thursday's spectacular gathering at Buddy Guy's Legends. The Blues Blast Music Awards featured great performances, great awards presentations, and a wonderful mix of musicians, blues professionals, and fans. The winners of the 2010 Blues Blast Music Awards were:
  Best Contemporary Blues Recording: Nick Moss / Privileged
  Best Traditional Blues Recording: Mississippi Heat / Let's Live It Up
  Best Blues Song: The Kilborn Alley Blues Band / "Better Off Now"

• Bob Corritore to accompany country legend Jessi Colter for Shooter Jennings opening today! Country music legend Jessi Colter and Bob Corritore join forces for an opening set for Shooter Jennings (Shooter is Waylon Jennings and Jessi's son). Jessi Colter and Bob have worked together occasionally over the last 7 years. They stylistically meet each other in the middle with a warm mix of country ballads and romps, some gospel and some blues. The show happens on Thursday, November 4th, 2010 at the Rhythm Room, and Jessi & Bob hit at 8:30pm.
• Tempe Center For The Arts presents Bob Corritore and His Blues Associates for the Lakeshore Jazz Series on Saturday, November 27th. Advance tickets available! The Tempe Center For the Arts presents Bob Corritore's Blues Bash as part of its Lakeshore Jazz Series. Bob will present a showcase of his musical assocaiates including Bobby Jones, Leon Blue, Chris James, Patrick Rynn, and Brian Fahey. This is a rare opportunity to see blues in a state of the art performance center. The room that the performance will be held in will feature cabaret seating, and the stage will have a backdrop of a picture window with an amazing nighttime view overlooking Tempe Town Lake. Another special thing about this show is that it is all ages, which is hard to find in most blues presentations. Special thanks to series coordinator Woody Wilson for the honor of being included in this innovative series at such a beautiful venue! • David Horwitz photos posted on www.bobcorritore.com! Photographer David Horwitz has won the Blues Foundation's "Keeping the Blues Alive" award for his fine work. He is based in Tucson, Arizona, but has been photographing blues people all around the country for many years. He was so kind as to allow us use of some of his magnificent shots. • Sunnyland Slim on YouTube! Please enjoy this great 1984 clip of the masterful Sunnyland Slim singing "She Put That Thing On Me." Sunnyland was a giant of blues piano, who's style is rarely covered in the contemporary blues world. His beautiful piano work is on brilliant display in this clip, as is his rich, powerful voice.
