About the 10/10/10 Roots and Blues Benefit Concert Performers

Sonia LeighSonia Leigh
Sonia Leigh is a singer/songwriter hailing from Atlanta, Georgia. With gritty vocals and poetically compelling lyrics, Sonia grabs her listeners with her raw honesty and primal emotion, all while wearing her heart on her guitar strap. Sonia Leigh brings an electrifying excitement to the stage with her unbridled passion and rebellious charm. She easily and immediately establishes a bond with her audience through the sincerity of her haunting voice, soulful lyrics, excellent musicianship and sultry appearance.

Candye Kane
Candye Kane and Band
Superhero is the name of Candye's original song and the title of her latest CD for Los Angeles based label, Delta Groove records.  It is also an apt description of the jump blues singer and songwriter from East Los Angeles who has earned this moniker the hard way. Nominated for four National Blues Foundation Awards for BB King Entertainer of the Year, Best Blues Contemporary CD and Best Contemporary Blues Female and beating down pancreatic cancer in the last two years, Kane is one tough cookie. She has performed worldwide for presidents and movie stars but her path to success was not always glamorous or easy.
Raised in a dysfunctional, blue-collar family, Candye became a teenage mother, a pin up cover girl and a punk rock, hillbilly and blues-belting anarchist by the time she was just 21 years old.  Ten cds, six record labels, millions of international road miles and countless awards later, Miss Kane has proven to be a true survivor as she scrambled her way to the top of the roots music heap, creating a world renowned reputation that has spanned two decades.

Coy BowlesCoy Bowles and the Fellowship
Coy Bowles is a member of the Zac Brown Band. He plays guitar and organ for ZBB as well as writes and arranges music. He also leads his own Atlanta based project, Coy Bowles and The Fellowship, for which he writes all the music and performs lead guitar, piano, organ and lead vocals. Most recently Bowles has been motivated by a desire to give back to his hometown community. In 2010 he founded the Coy Cares Foundation. The group participates in, and organizes events in Thomaston to raise money for Gilmore Center; an organization that provides assistance, resources and job opportunities to mentally and physically handicapped citizens.

Seth WalkerSeth Walker
Music audiences around the world were first introduced to Seth Walker with the release of his eponymous long-player on Hyena Records in 2007. It would hit the top twenty of the Americana and Living Blues charts, while receiving praise from publications like No Depression, Blues Revue and Maverick UK Magazine. Creative Loafing wrote, "Seth Walker is a splendid mix of roots styles: blues, soul and Americana, featuring deep-fried guitar licks, churchy organ and crisp horns, mostly delivered over spot-on shuffles. " Westword declared, "Seth Walker serves Southern roots guit-pickin' and blues songcraft with ease and grace. Echoing a variety of artists, from Jimmy Reed to Ray Charles, he slips expertly from loose-jointed shuffles to organ-inflected feel-good fare and a whole lot more. An old soul with new fingers, Walker cooks from start to finish."

Jon JusticeJon Justice
Possessing a soulfulness that belies his youth, Justice is constantly exploring musical influences and expanding his repertoire. The "Jon Justice sound", is always pushing outward towards fresh expression, reverberating as it does with Justices' singular take on the events of day and building innovatively on the bedrock of the pioneers that came before him. "Write what you know, play what you feel. That's what I try to bring to the table," Justice says. "I don't know any other way!" Justice was recently sited as Best of Cincinnati 2008 Blues Singer/Slinger, won the Cincinnati Blues Challenge representing the Queen City at the IBC in Memphis. In 2007 Justice was nominated for three C.E.A's for Best Blues Artist, Best Live Act, and Best Up and Coming Artist. Jon was also honored with a C.U.LA.N award by the city of Cincinnati for his artistic contributions to the community in 2008.

BurnBurnt Bacont Bacon
With core players (Jon Liebman, Oliver Wood, Dave Roth & Chris Uhler) well-seasoned by over 30 cumulative years in the Atlanta music scene, Burnt Bacon takes pride in ensuring that each time you see them, you'll never know what is coming next. Indeed, each set list effortlessly spans many genres. Delta blues segues into soul or maybe some Hank Williams, followed by some swampy R&B or maybe a quick song peppered with the distinct flavors of New Orleans. The result is a blend of music that swells and ebbs, swings and sways. In a word, "fun." Burnt Bacon offers an intentionally loose and wonderfully eclectic approach to music, gleefully reaching into a grab-bag full of rich influences best described as "Americana."

Paul Campanella, Jr.Paul Campanella
Paul has toured over 18 countries around the world and appeared on more than 20 albums, compilations, and soundtracks as a drummer, percussionist, songwriter, and vocalist. Currently he is a background vocalist with rock legends Cheap Trick in Sgt. Pepper Live at Paris Hotel & Casino. In 2007/2008 Paul toured with the late blues phenom Sean Costello and contributed drum tracks to 6 songs on Sean's acclaimed album "We Can Get Together" which reached #10 on the Billboard Blues Album Chart. In 2009 he teamed up with Michael Bacich (Oingo Boingo) and software company Acoustica to record a drum sample library for a new product to be released in late 2010.

Aaron TrubicAaron Trubic
As an experienced studio and touring musician, recording engineer, producer, vocalist, cellist and writer, Aaron Trubic has proudly garnered numerous commercial recording credits for both major and independent labels spanning 18 years as well as tour performances in Europe, Asia and North America and has been described as "outstanding" and "inspiring" by the national press.
A bass player steeped in traditional Blues and Soul, Aaron has backed some of the world's greatest performers in this genre including Lou Pride (Severn Records), Sean Costello (Landslide, Artemis/Tone-Cool Records) and Hubert Sumlin (Howlin' Wolf).
In 2008, We Can Get Together was released worldwide on Delta Groove Music. Not only did Aaron co-produce this landmark album by Sean Costello but also contributed 2 songs to it, including the title cut, "Anytime You Want". In April 2008, "We Can Get Together" peaked at #3 on the Billboard Blues chart and was nominated for a Blues Foundation Award for Contemporary Blues Album of The Year.
