· The Blue Shoe Project Launches a Campaign to have Honeyboy Edwards and Pinetop Perkins Play the Presidential Inauguration: The Blue Shoe Project, headed by the father/son team of Jeffry and Mike Dyson, is an educational organization dedicated to bringing the elder tradition of blues into the lives of school-aged children. Though many other noble organizations also work in unison for this cause, it could be said that nobody has done it with a higher profile than Blue Shoe. Their latest effort is aimed at getting the two oldest surviving bluesmen, Honeyboy Edwards and Pinetop Perkins, the chance to perform at Obama’s inaugural ball. They have created a very entertaining video to promote this cause. To see the clip, click here. To read more about the Blue Shoe Project and to see their website, click here.
