George Jackson's Last Two Dollars is one of the most original and entertainig blues songs ever written and Johnnie Taylor's performance puts it among the best blues recordings of all time. If Johnnie had just played guitar, it would have made him a blues immortal.
Thanks for the comment. I just happened to be looking though links and found it. Yes you are right Last Two Dollars is one of the best. Although I am willing to give Johnny Taylor immortal status anyway:-) I just wish more people knew about him because he is one of the greats.
It's so nice to hear about Johnny Taylor. When I was in Chicago during a trip I crossed wtih 3 guys on the Subway singing this so nice "The last two dollars". It made me stop for a while and film it. 7 years after I finally found the reference of this music and it was like I travelled back on time. Here's the link for the ones who admire this nice blues: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSkQZ1iB6zg I wish we'd have blues in Brazil and music like this also...
