Hmmmm, pretty good for an American Idol:-)

  1. I was at this show back in March at the HOB. Sweet Home was the encore. Hicks had the place in a frenzy the entire show, the floor was bouncing up and down.

He and Keb Mo have known each other for some time. No, not your typical Idol material...

  2. Hicks is definitely a blues, soul, jazz kind of musician with incredible live shows. He's in it for the music, not the idol crap. Too bad for the folks out there that can't get past the idol thing. They are missing out. Hicks will be around for a long, long time.

  3. This is a fabulous performance! This is the REAL Taylor Hicks, folks. In short order, Hicks will show what a tremendous talent he is and hopefully put out a great blues/soul album next time around. And if you haven't seen him in concert, do yourself a real favor, and do so. Good time guaranteed.

  5. I am in total agreement here. I too was there and yes.... the floor was bouncing with us... we were whipped into a frenzy and then left out to dry.

The evening culminated in a surprise appearance by Taylor Hicks and Keb Mo and some of his band members, at Buddy Guy's Legends. We were treated to an impromptu and amazing performance by:
    Taylor Hicks

Josh Smith ( Taylor's lead Guitarist) who is an amazing blues guitarist and singer in his own right)

    Keb Mo
    Shemkekia Copeland
and none other than Buddy Guy himself...

    What a night folks...what a night...

  7. This is not just pretty good for an American Idol...it ranks up there with the best jam bands. Obviously, Taylor is MORE than a former AmIdol.

Thanks for posting this great video. Really enjoyed it.

  9. I was at Taylor's "After-Idol" concert last Sept 12 at Smith's Olde Bar in Atlanta. His old band, now Little Memphis Blues Orchestra, performed the first two sets. After the idol concert up in Duluth, Taylor was whisked into Atlanta through the back door of Smith's where he performed two sets over 2 hours of music -- while standing no more than 10 feet from me. His friends from Spoonful James also dropped in. A lot of this show can be found on Youtube. Listen to his performance of "Georgia." I caught his solo tour at The Tabernacle in Atlanta. You must see him live...

  10. This is one of my favorite videos of Taylor Hicks. America got it right. Stop with the pop music crap and give us a real musician.
