Big Show Alert!

BLUES BEFORE SUNSET w/the Bob Pace Band featuring Steve George
Friday, Sept. 4, 2009
5:30-7:30 p.m.
E. Locust Street in front of the State Historical Museum (600 E. Locust), in Des Moines' East Village
Free

The air has a chill, the State Fair is over, the rug rats are back in school and well, that pretty much means fall is here. Good thing we're still heating things up with Blues Before Sunset!
Join us this Friday night as we welcome the Bob Pace Band featuring Steve George. These two have an astounding amount of talent between them, both having been part of Des Moines' Blues scene for years. Most recently, the duo performed as the Midnight Dogs and won the 2009 Iowa Blues Challenge. They earned a trip to Memphis to compete in the International Blues Challenge in January 2010. Steve George was inducted into the Iowa Blues Hall of Fame in 2005. So basically what I'm saying is you're getting all this talent and entertainment for FREE!
The magic continues Saturday and Sunday when the Central Iowa Blues Society presents the HEART OF AMERICA LIVING HISTORY BLUES FEST at Living History Farms in Urbandale. The line up includes Eddie Shaw & the Wolfgang, Matt Woods & The Thunderbolts, George & Gil Davis, Ronnie Baker Brooks and, of course, Steve George w/Bob Pace. Visit www.cibs.org for the complete schedule. Tickets are $15/day at the gate.
Blues Before Sunset is family friendly and open to the public. Beer, wine, and bottled water are available for sale and food vendors on site. People attending the event should bring their own seating.

Blues Before Sunset is sponsored by the State Historical Society of Iowa and Central Iowa Blues Society with additional support by Baratta's restaurant.
